Success in creating a profitable home business sometimes feels out of reach. If you’ve tried different home business ideas and feel like you’ve failed, or haven’t tried yet for fear that you might fail, you need to keep reading.
I’ve been building success for a long time, but I certainly didn’t come up with that “success” all on my
own. I spent a few years studying those who were successful, and then crafted my strategy for success. Now I have the amazing privilege of helping others do the same.
So let’s take a look at the seven secrets for success.
1. DEFINE what Success means for YOU.
Don’t take someone else’s definition. Don’t think too small. And don’t be lazy and craft some pie-in-the-sky idea like, “I’ll be successful if I win the lottery”. Probably not going to happen!
Instead, DO be specific. “My success means X dollars, or X degree, or X relationship, or X new habit…”
2. HONOR YOUR INSIDES.
Within you lies the most powerful motivation and the most precious building blocks of your success. Don’t ever think that you’ve had too tough of a life or too many hardships. You have inside of you what you need to build your success. Your attitudes and motivations, your joy and your pain, your experiences and boundaries and gifts – all come together to create who you are. And who you are is what creates your success.
3. FIND A GROUP.
No one creates success in a vacuum. Think of the people you look up to, those who have the external trappings of a successful life. They are always surrounded by a group of others who help to make them how great they are.
Now, being part of a group doesn’t mean you give up your right to think or your need for creativity and individuality. Far from it! But being part of a group of like-minded people will help motivate you, will empower you when you feel down, and will give you ideas and tools to use that you might not have thought of!
4. DEFINE YOUR BOTTOM LINE.
There may be some things you won’t do. These things are just as important to honor as the things you will do. Write down your budget. Write down your realistic time commitment. Write down your interests and talents. Give yourself a few months to put together a plan that works for you and to get comfortable with new habits. Knowing where you’re starting from is essential to moving you toward your success!
5. DON’T REINVENT THE WHEEL.
Unless you’re in the very small group of people who comes up with a completely unique invention or business idea, it is likely you’ll want to follow someone else’s plan at least initially. Don’t waste time arguing against others’ success plan – instead, learn from them! If your plan involves creating an extra few thousand dollars a month, find someone (or a group of someones) who are doing just that, then copy what they’re doing. Once you’ve implemented the plan, you can branch out in creativity and see where that leads you!
6. INVEST TEN DOLLARS.
Yes, you heard right. Marketing an online venture is important, but so often people believe that they “need to spend money to make money”. That is simply NOT necessarily so. There are literally dozens of ways to market without spending a dime. If you wait until you have profits to invest, you’ll experience one of the first payoffs of genuine success. Don’t shortcut this one and wrack up credit card debt or deplete your savings account!
7. STICK WITH IT.
Successful people find one business platform, then stick with it. Do that.
Successful people are willing to put in the time. Do that.
Successful people are dedicated to actually doing the work. Do that.
Successful people build relationships first and sell later. Do that.
How this works for me…
When I first registered all my social accounts at xeeme.com/Ronae_Jull, I was astounded to realize that I had over 1,000 people in my contacts from just one source, and was connected to thousands of folks. Building relationships over the past few years has been an intentional and thrilling part of my life. Now those relationships are paying off. Yours will too.
Remember that ten dollar investment? Come to EmbraceAbundance and join me. Let’s build YOUR success, together!
Your turn
How do you define your success? Where are you in the process? How can I help?
